No more Highchair!

The next phase of Ben showing his independence, is no more high chair. He was really too big for it anyway, but it was nice for Phil and I to have him in there (at least he couldn't get into trouble:)) if we needed to take Ryker out, etc. But, he does LOVE to sit at the table with us every night and eat dinner with us.Ben has had a great week, he is doing well at school, now that the weather is getting nicer, he loves to play outside all day. Next weekend we are going to take him to see "Veggie Tales Live". I am sure that he is going to have a riot!

Mom and Dad's night out

Last night was the Spring Social Event at Phil's work. It was a great time. We went on the Spirit of Washington Dinner Train for dinner and a Murder Mystery night. We ended up at a Winery in Woodenville, and then back on the train for the return trip. We had a great night, it was fun to have an adult evening with good conversation.
Benjamin has had a great weekend. He is so happy that Phil is home. It is funny to watch him with Phil, he mimics EVERYTHING that Phil does. From the way Phil takes a drink, gets dressed, treats the dog, etc... Benjamin wants to do it just like his daddy. It is so cute, but kinda scary. It keeps us aware how we have to watch everything we say and do.
We went out for dinner with George and Janell tonight, it was the first time in months we have tried taking Ben to a restaurant. He did great. A little antsy by the end, but it was a success.
I leave tomorrow for CA for a few days, and I am sad already. I am looking forward to the break, and it will be a great conference, but I am going to miss my boys:(!

A GREAT Weekend!

We had a fantastic weekend with our friends Tracie and Grace. Tracie and I met years ago in Mexico while we were both in college, and have remained close friends since. We then had babies a couple months apart and this weekend we had the chance to have a sleepover and let the kids play. It took less than 10 minutes for the kids to warm up, and from then on they were best pals. We played with all the toys, took a long walk and had a great time at the park. Today we went to the ProClub and took the kids swimming which was a blast. They loved the water, they both swam for over an hour, using the kick boards, playing catch with a ball and jumping off the edge of the pool. It was great fun. We hope that they can come back soon! We will be sad when they move all the way to Spokane, we will have to see them as much as possible before they move! Come back soon:)

Missing Daddy....

So, I realize I never appreciate all that Phil does in the mornings, until he isn't here to do it:) Phil is in Ohio for his dad's 70th Birthday party (Happy Birthday Dad!) for the next 5 days. Last night, Ben came to bed with me after having a bad dream. This morning, way to early, he woke up and patted Phil's pillow and said "Where's DaDa?", he even went into the bathroom to look for him, he was all out of sorts. But, we made it through the morning, and he was very clingy at daycare. Friday's tend to be the hardest, after a long week we are both ready to be home!
Tomorrow my friend Tracie and her little girl Grace come for a playdate and sleep over! It is going to be such fun, I know the kids will love it. Plus, it will be nice to spend an extended amount of time with Tracie.
