Seriously - Hair Cut Time

Ok, yes, I realize when you look at this picture, it is hard to focus on anything excpet Benjamins freakishly long and messy hair. See, when we wet his hair down and brush it, even though it is long, it looks really cute. However, there is no chance that on a daily basis, Benjamin will let us wet his hair down and style it, so it ends up looking like this picute. I was hoping to wait to get it cut until Ben and I made our trip home in June, but it is not looking like we can wait that long. Considering he now has to push his bangs out of his eyes to see - I think we will move ahead with a hair cut this week. And it is so convenient, becuase Kids Cuts is coming to Ben's daycare on Wednesday - so only 3 days and he will be seeing clearly again:)
However, this picture is showing him doing what he loves best these days - Play Dough! He spends hours at the table making play dough works of art!

Lots of Easter Activities

What a fun weekend! Saturday Phil and I took Ben to an Easter Egg hunt. However the location was not where we thought (At least we were not alone, there were about 30 families in the wrong spot:)) so by the time we made the "real" egg hunt - we had missed it. Oh well, we used our own eggs and he had a mini hunt into he park. Then Karen came up on Saturday for the night and she and I spent the day hanging out and each had a fantastic massage. Gotta love that:) It was nice to have her here and see her again - It has been since Thanksgiving! Too long.
Then this morning, Benjamin was in Easter Heaven. It was great. Phil thought our house looked more like Christmas morning than Easter morning, but Ben loved it:)
We had presents and an Easter Basket - but we also had a basket from Grandma, so it looked like a lot. Of course, out of all the new toys, etc... Ben preferred Grandma's basket - the cars and candy. He got a new toddler bed - it is more of a blow up bed - for travel, but Ben loves it and for him it is a great place to hang out and watch Barney:) There are also pictures of his new lawn mower and chain saw (fisher price of course). It was a great weekend, but holidays are always hard. We missed our families quite a bit. Hope this finds everyone well - Happy Easter!

Almost Easter.....

I I am not sure if Ben actually knows what the Easter Bunny is and that he will be getting a mountain of gifts (Yes, Phil has reminded me again tonight that this is not Christmas, rather Easter. And that I am never allowed to go guilt shopping again before a holiday:)) But he does know that we have a ton of candy in the house. He is asking for a Treat about every 5 minutes:)
He is feeling good (for this week, I am sure next week it will be something!) but for now he is doing well. He is talking more and more and putting more words together. You can have a conversation with him now.
Here is a picture taken this week of he and I hanging out in the kitchen - he has really gotten into calling our names lately, just becuase he knows it gets a reaction. So most of the night is spent answering to him yelling "Mama! Mama! or Daddy! Daddy!". Great fun.
Also, here is a picture of his new shelf and name letters in his room. It looks fantastic in there! Our friend Janell's dad made this for us - he did an amazing job. It was so nice of him to do that for us, we LOVE it:) It looks great on the wall in his room.
Tomorrow Karen comes up to visit for the night. She and I are going to spend Saturday afternoon at the ProClub (Ahhhh....a massage!) and then have a relaxing night in, I think movies are on the agenda. Then she will be here for Easter dinner. We are going to forgo the ham this year and have steaks on the grill. Can't wait!
Only 7 weeks until Ben and I get to go home:) I am so ready to see everyone again.

Great day for a Picnic!

Today was beautiful out! We had a fun afternoon outside playing and Benjamin had a picnic in the back yard. He had a great time sharing his food with daddy and Ryker, and was just thrilled with the novelty of being able to eat outside.

Family Fun Day

Well, we named today Family Fun day:) We actually had a really nice day. We took Ben to go see Veggie Tales Rockin' Live Tour! We made it through the first half before Ben got too antsy to sit any longer. He actually barely sat the entire show, he was dancin in the aisles, jumping up and down, clapping and cheering like crazy. It was so fun to watch him:)
After that we went to Red Robin for dinner and let Ben get his own Ice Cream Sundae. He was in heaven. It was a trip to watch him attempt to eat it, but most of it landed on his lap.
He had a rough week at school, he had 2 incidents. First he got bit by another child which I think was tougher on me than him. The next day he fell off a toy on the playground and hit his head. He is still a little bruised up this weekend, but he is a pretty tough kid.
He is talking more and more and just getting more silly each day. Now that the weather is getting nicer, he wants to be outside all day every day!
Only 2 months until we get to go "home" for a visit! Can't wait to see everyone and visit both Grandma's and Grandpa's and lots of cousins.
